Intervention and Counselling

Intervention

Our psychologists are trained and have experience in administering targeted evidence-based intervention for a range of common psychological and developmental concerns in children and adolescents. Common types of intervention utilised include cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, and play-based therapy.

Some of the presentations our psychologists commonly work with include; anxiety disorders, phobias, depression, grief, adjustment issues, ADHD, learning difficulties, autism, and behavioural difficulties.

Private Counselling

Counselling sessions are available for a wide range of presenting concerns that may arise in children and adolescents. This may be in support of a diagnosed psychological disorder, or more broadly to address a non-clinical concern, such as, coping with a significant life event, stress management or study skills support.

Both face to face and Telehealth appointments are available.

Animal Assisted Therapy

Animal Assisted Therapy is an option we offer to clients that would benefit from utilising the Human Animal Bond (HAB) to help them meet their therapy goals. Our principal psychologist and her therapy dog, Uno, are trained in Animal Assisted Therapy. Using a therapy animal can help with increasing engagement, reduce anxiety and stress levels, and build skills in social and emotional awareness. If you'd like to learn more about Animal Assisted Therapy and whether it would be beneficial for you or your child, feel free to contact us for more information.
