Our Mission

Seven Hats Psychology is a private psychology clinic dedicated towards providing evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions to young people aged between 3 – 21 years. The Seven Hats name comes from Dr Paul Ekman’s work on human emotions proposing six basic human emotions that can be universally identified. We have seven hats: one to represent each of the six universally identified emotions, and then a seventh to represent the state of feeling overwhelmed, which may include several competing emotions at once.

We help young people to identify, understand, unpack and manage their emotions, as well as learning about how their emotions relate to their thoughts and behaviour. Through empathy and building strong, meaningful relationships with our clients and their families, we empower them to work towards reaching their therapeutic goals and achieving their fullest potential.
